THE BAND
Mirage is an accomplished 6 piece live band playing the best in both modern and traditional Greek & English Music to the Greek community. Comprising two main vocalists (Male & Female) and including the traditional instruments of a violin and a bouzouki, the band also includes percussion, keyboards and guitar.
Having formed 10 years ago, Mirage
is a very established group within the Greek community and is recognised as one
of the top 5 Greek Function bands in London. More recently, Mirage has also begun
to also establish itself within the more wider UK community performing its comprehensive
English repetoir at both weddings and corporate functions. With an average age of
36, each member of the band has at the very least 20 years of professional experience
and so have collectively played music for over 120 years.

The band also incorporates the pre-marital (Stolizma) service which comprises of the Violin and the Bouzouki. Here the traditional Wedding songs for the bride and the groom will be performed as they prepare for their big day.
The Violin is used extensively for all traditional dances eg “the pinning of money
on the bride and groom”, the “ koumbarous and koumeres” dances and other traditional
dances. Due to years of experience performing at weddings, the band are more than
happy to guide and advise you on the traditional aspects, form and customs of a
typical Greek Cypriot wedding.
The amount of Greek and English music performed at each function is always at the discretion of the client. The band will always lead the way on what music is played on the night based on their experience, but ultimately the client will always have the last word on this matter.
VENUES
The band, have played from some of the smallest to some of the largest and most exclusive venues in the UK. Now, as one of the leading bands in the country, the band are regularly performing at venues such as: Mirage has performed at countless functions throughout the UK. In addition to London and its surrounding areas, Mirage has also performed in: Plymouth, Southampton, Portsmouth, Brighton, Bristol, Weston-Supermare, Margate, Clacton-on-sea, Great Yarmouth, Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham, Scunthorpe, Derby, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, York and Huddersfield. The band has also performed in Cyprus.
